Deck Refinishing

Every deck that has ever been built will require some form of refinishing at some point, which is expected for wood. Wood requires great care, especially when in an outdoor setting, which is where you will find all decks. Wooden decks are exposed daily to a variety of different elements from heavy wind and rains, chemical pool water, direct sunlight and mildew. Eventually, you would need your desk refinished to bring it back to life. We are your pros for deck repairs and builds in Conroe.

    What is deck refinishing?

Refinishing your deck will allow for any damage to be repaired or even replaced, and it will allow for the application of new protector products, during the refinishing process your deck will be stripped of any old sealants or paints, it will then be properly cleaned with chemicals such as sodium hydroxide which in simpler terms is a bleach that is added with ammonia-free detergents, to get a better result we use warm water whilst cleansing. After the deck surface has been thoroughly cleaned, we can add new stain or paint and attend to any repair work required.

    Wood Decks

Wooden decks have been around for a long time and are still a popular option because they have a natural appearance that blends in wonderfully with your yard. Wood is a long-lasting and simple-to-work-with material for deck construction. Wooden decks also offer a very smooth surface if properly treated and maintained making it an ideal surface for bare feet and your pets as well. Annual maintenance may still be required after installation to avoid splinters, warping and rot. A wooden deck requires refinishing every two to three years.

    Pressure-treated wood

This wood is the lower costing deck options available. Made generally from Southern wooden pine, it can last up to 15 years of good use, if well maintained of course. This type of wood would require regular maintenance as it is known to splinter easily and while doing so, it is vital to take extra care and use protective wear for precaution as the chemicals that are used to prevent termite infectivity’s and rot are toxic and can cause you some unwanted health issues. We are experts on how to handle old and new pressure-treated wood decks.

    Environmental sound
